Dunolly

Most week days we are working so during the weekend we attempt to get out and about for a drive. There are generally interesting things to see or nice places to enjoy a meal or nice hot coffee.

Yesterday we travelled to Dunolly.
It is situated roughly 45 mins from Bendigo and about an hour from Ballarat. A nice little town with lovely old buildings with plaques adorning some to give a informative historical description.
The town is nice and tidy and the people friendly.
The local market was on and I found a very healthy Banksia plant which should look lovely in the garden.
Gosh I hope it grows! I don't have much luck with Banksias.

Quite a few stalls lined the main street so there was a wide choice of goods to peruse.
And if you were hungry you could choose a sausage sizzle or pizza.

We opted for lunch at The Produce Store. Very nice and lovely friendly staff.
And there were plenty of other places to choose from as well. The Dunolly bakery is very popular.

Dunolly is not a big town but if you are interested in the history of the Goldrush then this is the area to spend a bit of time.

There is a caravan park and it appeared to be very popular.

All in all Dunolly is certainly a place that is worth checking out.
